Jason is Chief Executive Officer of 23. He leads the business, playing a fundamental role in structuring transactions and setting 23’s culture and values. Prior to founding 23 with Stephen, Jason previously worked within the structured credit team at Investec Bank for over 13 years, during which time he built and headed up the successful sports, media, entertainment offering at the bank. He has structured $1bn of transactions in this space.
Stephen is Managing Director of 23 Capital. Prior to founding 23, he worked with the Olympic Games, IMG and SFX, after which he went into private consultancy, culminating in his launch of 23 with Jason. Stephen has worked with many of the world's leading athletes, music artists, entertainers and brands, and advised on or structured more than 100 transactions across the sector before launching 23.
David is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s portfolio of clients in the football space. David spent over 9 years at StateStreet and Bloomberg and has a Masters in Sports Management and Marketing.
Andy leads the overall risk function and internal operations of 23, chairing the credit committee as part of his role. Andy is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, with over 15 years of extensive international experience in a variety of risk management roles having previously worked at XL Catlin, as well as both KPMG and PwC.
Kim is accountable for financial reporting and financial analysis. Kim was previously an Audit Assistant Manager at KPMG.
Mathew has over 10 years of experience in capital markets and entertainment specialty finance. Mathew specialises in highly structured financings for sports, music, and entertainment clients globally. Prior to joining 23, Mathew was part of J.P. Morgan’s Entertainment Industries Group where he led some of the largest financing transactions in the entertainment and music industry.
James is a Senior Associate within the Origination team and brings over 8 years’ experience in Finance and Corporate Development in the Music and Luxury Hospitality industries. Prior to joining 23, James was Group Commercial Manager at Soho House & Co driving the development and corporate finance activities of the group. James has worked in Finance and Commercial roles at Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group.
Suzi leads Media Relations at 23 Capital and has 15 years of Communications experience across varying sectors. Prior to joining 23 Capital Suzi managed Media Relations for Impetus – Private Equity Foundation.
Paul leads strategy at 23; defining the strategic roadmap alongside identifying growth opportunities and managing strategic partnerships. Paul has 13 years of experience, most recently at FinLeap and Mountain Fintech where he was a Venture Partner.
Patrick is on the team responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s portfolio of clients. Formerly an academy player at both Watford F.C & Norwich City, Patrick went on to study Finance at Barry University in Miami. He has since worked as a Credit Analyst for TCA Global Credit Fund and Harcap Limited.
Sam is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. He has five years prior credit experience with managers including BMS Finance and CVC Credit Partners and he spent six years in Silicon Valley working at the intersection of technology and entertainment for startups including 8tracks and Zynga. Sam has an MBA from UC Berkeley and is a qualified chartered accountant.
Eyal brings over 10 years of experience in both credit and private equity having previously worked in the principal investments team at Rothschild Investment Trust, and in the structured finance team at Investec Bank where he was instrumental in developing the bank’s sports, media and entertainment offering. More recently, Eyal worked at Jarden Corporation where he focused on integrations and revenue generation. Eyal received a BSc in Management with honors from the University of Manchester, and an MBA from Columbia Business School where he graduated on the Dean’s List.
Nick has been with 23 since inception and is a Director and Chief of Staff. He has over 30 years’ experience in operational and financial risk management
Rose monitors, manages and controls legal risk at 23 at both an operational and transactional level. Rose is a qualified lawyer in England with experience in private wealth and the sports and entertainment industries. Rose was formerly in the banking team at Pinsent Masons.
Margot is responsible for treasury and financial operations at 23. She previously worked in Fund Services at Intertrust Group.
Henk is a consultant to 23. Henk has over 25 years of experience, including 20 years as CFO of SC Heerenveen (Netherlands).
Matt leads the Legal & Business Affairs of 23. He monitors, manages and controls legal risk for 23 at both an operational and transactional level. Matt has an MBA and is a qualified lawyer in England who has experience at WPP and Disney and was formerly on the corporate finance team at Squire Patton Boggs.
Harriet is responsible for the risk management function within 23. She has six years’ experience broking for banks, corporates and traders. She is ACII qualified and started her career on the Aon graduate program. Prior to joining 23 she worked as a broker at Miller and was 23’s broker since their inception in 2014.
Jonny assists 23’s marketing and origination teams. He is a Sports Business graduate having previously worked at The Blackstone Group and Marble Bar Asset Management.
Amit is Head of Labs at 23. He is an experienced technology investment professional, most recently having worked as a Principal at a private family investment firm. He has an MBA from London Business School and is also a qualified corporate lawyer, having previously worked at Charles Russell and Baker & McKenzie.
Julian is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s portfolio of clients, predominantly in the football space. He has previous experience at an independent promoter of sports and entertainment events and has been at 23 since its creation.
Jack is part of the global origination team at 23. Prior to joining the team Jack was a Director at Credit Suisse leading the Sports, Media and Entertainment division. Jack has extensive experience in wealth management at Goldman Sachs and RBC Wealth Management where he developed and launched their Intellectual Lending platform. Jack sits on the committee for the Royal Academy Schools and is a founding ambassador of the Ocean conservation charity Project Zero.
Benjamin supports the origination team within North America. Before joining 23, Benjamin was an analyst at CAA (Creative Artists Agency), the American talent and sports agency where he worked in strategy and corporate development assisting with M&A activity as well as organic growth initiatives.
Angus is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. Angus previously worked at Evercore in the energy advisory team.
Andrés has worked across corporate governance, M&A, and cross border transactions for companies like The Ritz-Carlton, Closa Investment Bankers and Sports Rights Group.
Alaister provides expertise in royalty valuation, industry analysis and business affairs for 23’s music clients. He is a former lawyer who holds a Masters in Music Business from NYU. Previously he has worked at Universal Music International, InGrooves and Captured Tracks.
Liam monitors, manages and controls legal risk for 23 at both an operational and transactional level. Liam is a qualified lawyer in England and New York who has experience with Google and Standard Chartered Bank and was formerly at Baker & Mackenzie.
Darrell is 23 Capital’s Global Chief Marketing Officer. He has over 20 years’ experience in the sports and media landscape, working in senior roles including Orange, NBA, WPP and has advised on bids to host the Ryder Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and America’s Cup. Previous to joining 23 he was working with Pembroke VCT in their portfolio of businesses.
Hugo is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. Previously, he spent 3 years at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation working in Structured Finance.
Vickie is a consultant to 23. Vickie has over 20 years' experience in the technology and music sectors, specialising in licensing and data, product/device integration, and global business development.
Jonny is Managing Director at 23. He has 25 years working in the sports industry including 14 years as the Sports Marketing Director for Nike EMEA and Chief Executive Officer of Sports Rights Group.
David is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. Previously, he spent over 4 years' at Mizuho Bank in the European Corporate Finance team covering a range of sectors. He started his career with Allied Irish Banks in the Leveraged and Corporate teams.
Joshua is responsible for financial operations and 23’s banking system. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and previously worked at both Deloitte and Langham Hall.
Karan is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. Previously, he spent 3 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch working across Leveraged and Structured Finance, Natural Resources and Industrials Groups.
James is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. Previously, he spent over 5 years at Credit Suisse and J.P. Morgan, working in a number of teams including Emerging Markets, Natural Resources and Structured Finance.
Kate is responsible for the Human Resources function at 23. She has 15 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry working for Société Générale Group and most recently Nomura International.
Tim leads the financial strategy and performance of 23. Tim is a Chartered Financial Analyst as well as a Chartered Management Accountant. Tim has over 10 years’ experience in the banking industry covering a number of managerial roles within Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets and Barclays Retail Strategy.
David has over 15 years experience in the media and entertainment industries. Prior to joining 23, David was a Partner at Evolution Media and a Vice President at Merrill Lynch where he underwrote $3bn in assets across the entertainment space.
Shelini is a member of the Human Resources team at 23. She is an Industrial Economics graduate and previously worked at Deloitte.
Andy leads the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. Andy was previously at Octopus Investments and spent 12 years at Royal Bank of Scotland.
Jeevan is responsible for the management of the global origination team. Jeevan was previously at Rathbones Brothers where he led the discretionary fund management launch into the intermediary and private wealth markets. He has experience in the music industry having worked for both Universal Music Group and with Ministry of Sound.
Maxx is a member of the capital markets team and plays a key role in the maintenance of 23’s funding relationships. He previously worked at Wells Fargo Securities in the power and utilities advisory team.
Ard is on the team which is responsible for managing the credit structuring and monitoring of 23’s client portfolio. He spent 5 years at Deutsche Bank AG, predominantly in the Leveraged & Structure Finance team. He also worked in their Commodities and Project Finance teams.
Patrick supports the origination and credit teams within North America. Prior to joining 23, Patrick was an Associate at Bristol Capital Advisors, a multi-strategy hedge fund where he was responsible for origination, fund operations, and consulting with the fund’s portfolio companies.
With an Intellectual Property lawyer & sports consultant background, Xavier has worked at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and legal offices in Barcelona.
Dietmar is responsible for Enterprise Risk at 23. Dietmar has 13 years` experience working in different credit/risk roles and previously spent 6 years at Barclays Bank.
